[FAQ] How to adjust the check-in and check-out times for check-in tablets and smart locks (IoT locks)?

The operating times for check-in using a check-in tablet and the opening period for a smart lock are basically set according to the "check-in time" and "check-out time" settings.

Depending on the operational policy, for example, if you want to allow check-in even if a guest arrives 1 hour before the check-in time they have communicated, or if you want to extend the permitted time before and after to consider cases such as returning to pick up forgotten items after check-out, you can set how many minutes before and after "check-in" and "check-out" are allowed in the "Before Check-in" and "After Check-out" settings.

For instance, in the following settings, the check-in time is set at 2 PM and the check-out time at 11 AM, and these times are notified to the guests through automatic messages. Since 60 minutes are allowed in both the "Before Check-in" and "After Check-out" settings, guests can actually start the check-in process and unlock the smart lock from 1 PM. Also, after check-out, for example, if they have forgotten something, they can unlock the smart lock with their PIN code until 12pm.

If you want to allow early check-in for only specific guests, not all guests at the facility, you can adjust the check-in and check-out times individually from the reservation details page.
