Overview

This article explains how to connect a SwitchBot account to AirHost.

Details

Availability

  • SwitchBot integration release date: 29 July 2026, 10:00 AM (JST)

  • Initial availability: Available first to corporate customers operating 50 or more rooms, with rollout taking place in phases.

  • Small-scale operators and individual customers: Availability is planned for Autumn 2026.

Note: For corporate customers operating 50 or more rooms, the integration is being enabled individually on a rolling basis. If you would like to use this feature, please follow the steps below.

Before You Connect

💡 AirHost ONE (New System) is required

SwitchBot integration is not supported in AirHost HMS (Legacy System). You must complete the migration to AirHost ONE (New System) before using this integration.

For migration instructions and more information, please refer to the following help article and contact AirHost Support:

💡 The AirHost IoT Lock Integration add-on is required

This feature requires the IoT Lock Integration add-on for AirHost.

💡 A separate API integration agreement with SwitchBot is required

Please ensure that you have completed the necessary API integration agreement with SwitchBot before using this feature.

💡 Complete the SwitchBot setup in advance.

Before connecting with AirHost, please register and install your Lock, Keypad, and Hub in the SwitchBot app, and make sure the Hub is linked to both the Lock and the Keypad. An Internet-connected Lock, Keypad, and Hub are required for AirHost integration.

Preparing Your SwitchBot Account

Notes

💡 Shared Entrance Door is Not Supported

SwitchBot does not support synchronising PIN codes across multiple locks through the cloud.

If your property has a main entrance lock and a room door lock, only the room door lock can be integrated with AirHost. As a result, the PIN code for the entrance door and the room door will not be the same.

💡 Twin Lock Is Not Supported

SwitchBot offers a Twin Lock feature that allows two smart locks installed on a door with upper and lower deadbolts to be locked and unlocked using a single PIN code.

AirHost's IoT Lock Integration does not support the Twin Lock feature. If you are using Twin Lock, you cannot use the AirHost integration.

💡 Reservation Information Is Not Available in the SwitchBot App or Web Portal

After connecting SwitchBot with AirHost, reservation details cannot be viewed in the SwitchBot mobile app or the SwitchBot web management portal.

You can, however, view the generated PIN codes.

Note: The login URL for the SwitchBot web management portal is provided by SwitchBot.

💡A maximum of 100 PIN codes can be registered per lock

Due to SwitchBot's specifications, each lock can store up to 100 PIN codes.

If you have configured permanent PIN codes, the number of PIN codes that AirHost can automatically generate will be less than 100.

AirHost automatically generates a PIN code when a reservation is confirmed. If a PIN code cannot be created (for example, because the registration limit has been reached), an error will be displayed.

To receive a notification when PIN code creation fails, enable Notifications → Booking Events → "PIN Creation Failed."

At this time, automatic retry and manual retry by users are not supported when PIN code creation fails.

If you need a PIN code to be reissued, assistance from the AirHost Support team is required. Please open the AirHost Support Chat, type "Talk to a staff member" to switch from the AI assistant to a support representative, and request "SwitchBot PIN code reissue."
