Overview

This article explains the channel creation procedure and synchronization specifications for linking AirHost and HostelWorld.

Detail

Synchronization Restrictions

Currently, AirHost supports both room-based sales and bed-based sales on Hostelworld. For room-based sales, AirHost supports this model; however, multi-room bookings are only partially supported. If a booking includes multiple rooms of different room types, each room will be successfully received and secured in AirHost.

Example:

  • If a booking includes 3 rooms with 3 different room types, all 3 rooms will be correctly captured in AirHost.

  • If multiple rooms are booked under the same room type, AirHost will only capture 1 room (1 inventory unit), and the additional rooms will not be reflected. In such cases, we recommend creating the additional rooms manually through the PMS to avoid overbooking.

⚠️ Due to this specification, the actual number of booked rooms may not match the number of rooms available on AirHost.

If there is a discrepancy, please create manual booking in AirHost for the missing rooms to ensure the inventory is adjusted correctly.

We are continuously working on improving these functionalities to better support different booking scenarios in the future.

Check-in Time

Hostelworld does not provide check-in time information to AirHost. As a result, the reservation's check-in time will be displayed as 00:00 in AirHost.

Impact

Since the check-in time is not available, guests may be able to check in earlier than the intended check-in time.

Workaround

Please manually update the check-in time on the Reservation Details page.

We are currently working on improving this behavior in a future update.

Preparation

Before setting up the integration, please contact Hostelworld Support and inform them that you would like to enable integration with AirHost.

Channel creation procedure

AirHost must be configured as a Channel Manager on HostelWorld in advance. Please check with Hostel World for setup instructions.

  1. Create a channel from the Admin Console → Channels → Add Channel button and select HostelWorld.

2. Enter the channel name and click [ Next ].

3. After creating the channel, add the property by entering the property ID on the HostelWorld side from "Add new OTA property".
